does anyone know why aircraft destined for cardiff airport r/w 30 disappear after reaching the bristol channel. aircraft landing at stansted are still on the radar at 100 ft.

Hi Mike,. The answer is simple, There is no radar receiver in the area.
Or the Planes not equipt with ADS-B

just an update on my original post. aircraft flighing over cardiff airport at height of say 20,000 ft or more do not disappear. it is just the low flying planes that do. maybe this is due to the high flyers being easier to pick up from distant ADS-Bs

So!., Nows your chance to get a radar for S. Wales going..!

You can work out approx. which radar is giving you the radar
simple with the ID by radar., I would strongly suspect it was
EGHQ at New Quay, or the one in Exeter. Both are pretty good
          radars
