  • Newbies feeder, Feeders location map & my own feed view ?

    Hello,

    I have newbies questions , I have search on the forum without succes !

    - Is there a map where is it possible to see feeders locations and radar codes of feeders stations

    - is it possible to see only my feed on flightradar24 site to tests my station when I'm not at home ?

    2. in the filter select your radar but coverage may be more then you can see on the map.or.....
    3.install Virtual Radar on your pc
    4.connect it to radar via IP
    if you don't have static WAN IP ....
    5. https://account.dyn.com/entrance/ register here and set up host for your IP
    6. In your router set up dyndns acc to renew your IP automaticlly
    then again in your router
    7. open port 80 to ypur PC's IP

    Now you are able to see your radar via link yourhostname.dydns.something/VirtualRadar/GoogleMap.htm in your remote browser

      Interesting when I looked at the link to the map of FR24 feeders you provided above, YBBN where I live does not have a blue circle with the F-YBBN1 next to it?, but rather a balloon?

      As of late last week, the coverage at YBBN has diminished to no a/c below about 2500 feet. You can see a/c arrive, then when at about 2500 feet, coverage stops, a/c freezes and the a/c disappears. Likewise, when a/c take off, I can hear them on my airband radio, but see nothing until the a/c is above 2500 feet.

      For the last few years and until last week on FR24 I could see all a/c arrivals, departures, taxing to bays and to runways. Now for some reason, coverage has changed. The feed into the Brisbane YBBN used to be fantastic. I do not know where it was/is located, but gave total coverage. It is like a practice when Brisbane hosts the G20 summit in 2014 that airspace below 2500 feet will not be displayed of arriving/departing leaders?

      When I look at other feeders, such as a local guy here who has his own setup, http://www.balus.info/ and I presume does not feed FR24 I can see all a/c to about 500 feet. But I much prefer FR24, which has a fantastic display and several options to suit your needs.

        Most likely it's new radar (F-YBBN1) and it takes couple of weeks to become blue dot
        The coverage you had is maybe from other radar who decided not to feed any more or moved the antenna, but this is only guessing.

          The map linked in post before is a private initiative without FR24 support.

            Now, I can see my coverage directly with dump1090 on port 8080.

            For the link to Google feeders map, I don't see my location ! May be at next update of the map database that appear...

              As pointed out, this data is out of FR24 staff control - is not based on official Data from FR24. But a user who decided to do it.

                Yes I know that is private initiative, but I'm very surprised that there is no official map generated with official FR24 data...
                It was very interested to have location of each FR24 feeders with information about number of relayed planes, max coverage, type of installation, etc...

                  Yes, I wondered if this was the case. As you say It may be a combination of some one close is no longer feeding FR24 or possibly the main feed antenna that used to give great coverage has issues. Thank you for response. I may have to look at getting a feed set up.

                  Do I presume(dangerous thing to do....) that as I am 8 kms from the YBBN tower, I can receive airport communications, including ground ok and I have a 360 degree view from my roof mounted Discone, an ADS-B box with suitable antenna may work ok?

                    why you don't get usb dongle and test it.

                      The discone have poor performance on the ADSB 1090Mhz frequency (I'v got a Dicone too).
                      I use a dedicated homemade antenna built for less 5 euros with a satellite 20db booster, my coverage is up to 400Km around my location !

                            Hi Sunplop, Thanks for the link. Looks pretty 'simple' to fabricate...now, where's my soldering iron....

                            I only use my Discone for air band, and as I am pretty close to the airport, though behind a slight hill, I am far enough away from the hill for airband frequencies to bend sufficiently for good coverage, including a/c taxying.
