  • The letters in front of the ICAO-code

    A question about these 3 letters F, N and T.
All radars on FR24 have 1 of these 3 letters in front of the ICAO code for the respective airports.
Examples:F-EDDF, N-EHAM and T-MLAT. What is the purpose of these letters? Or what do they indicate?
I ask purely out of curiousety

That is the designation of radar type

T= Home feeder with FR24 uploader app
T-MLAT = mlat target from calculating triangluated position from GPS enabled FR24 receivers
    N- = 3rd party network supplied data
    F- = Flight Radar 24 supplied feeder

Not all T= are Home feeders.

T-F5M = FAA ASDI Data Feed.

Rxxx are just temporary codes assigned automatically by the system

These pages list the "Radar Codes" being used.

          Per the FR24 Software page.
PlanePlotter software: Your data will appear on Flightradar24 as "Radar: NET1"

I can confirm it is T-PP1 I used that last week. Yes there's a lot of error or outdated info on the FR24 webpage, but they are only a small company with limited resources. Then there is lots of queries via email. Let's give them a break.

Yeah I couldnt find it but there was a post with the exact sources listed somewhere originally, but some of them have changed.

However we don't need to be super precise, his curiosity has now been answered
