  • RAF Lockheed Tri-Star K1 in re-fuelling mode - Western Approaches

I have been spending some time this afternoon, watching this RAF tanker flying a pattern in the Western Approaches which suggest it is undertaking re-fuelling activities today. There are not many RAF types that carry ADS-B, so it's a change to see an active aircraft busy

That Tristar has been around since January, flying from Cambridge with full ADS-B using a Marshalls of Cambridge callsign MCE4. I suspect it has yet to be handed back to the RAF.

Thanks Anmer - That certainly accounts for the callsign as Marshall Cambridge Engineering. It is still airborne at present and has flown up to the Isle of Man, where it flew various orbits, down as low as 3,500 feet with coverage from radar box EGNS! It's back down off the western approaches on my radar box EGHQ, flying large varied orbits at varying flight levels!
