Yes, they are on Playback but if you take this Flight for instance "GTI402 seen @ 2013-05-17 16:23 UTC on route from BKW to STN"(The Route shown has been self populated by the server and is wrong.) on this page: http://www.flightradar24.com/data/airplanes/n412mc there is no Route shown on the Mini Map when in Playback, so if you click on GTI402 just below the photo no Route will be shown as its not in the Database.

5Y is the correct IATA for Atlas Air: http://www.airframes.org/fleet/gti

OK, upon reflection I think what is being stated is that FR24 can't log flights unless someone has defined a route for that flight code.

Assuming that it's too late in the implementation to change that rather odd particular point of design, what about automatically defining routes with NULL end points for any new flight codes?

Then one could search for GTI402 ( not 5Y402, Atlas don't use the IATA assignment* ) and find all the flights that used that code regardless of end points.

    * correction, they do actually use 5Y in their HFDL messages but stick to GTI on ADS-B.

But they all exist in the system.. I can replay each and every one of them.

So are you saying that if the end point(s) of a recorded flight weren't declared then they can only be found and played-back though the aircraft page?

    Thanks,

    AB

Only one of the routes / flights you have quoted are in the Database and by default if no route is in the Database it will only show the Flight number:

    http://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/5y301

Charter / Cargo Flights often change from week to week and are more difficult to keep updated than Scheduled Flights, this is why there are less of them in the Database .

Looks like Atlas Air ( GTI ) flights are also affected in the same way. For example, the page for a/c N412MC lists lots of replayable flights:

    http://www.flightradar24.com/data/airplanes/n412mc

but if you try to access one of those flights in the database there is just a blank list:

    http://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/gti301
    http://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/gti402
    http://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/gti0602

Affects flights with and without known / filed end points.

Other chartered flights are available that way:

    http://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/woa3531

    Most odd

Thanks Gregg, in the absence of any other theories I'll go with that

Though it seems odd that FR24 can't key into the database with a charter flight code.

but since I know the a/c I can go to the a/c archive page and replay any CMB flights it has operated.

    Flights operated by N271WA

Possibly because the ICAO designator was reallocated from COPA some time ago?

Not just this flight, all CMB flights seem broken.
This may be due to the fact that 'CMB' flights are charter flights and not RPT (Regular Passenger Transport) flights.
