Only the Qantas Q400s are presently having ADS-B fitted - and there are only 7 of 31 done so far. According to other forums the intention has been to get rid of the Q200s and Q300s before early 2017 when it will mandatory for ADS-B to be fitted to every IFR equipped aircraft flying in Oz. No doubt there are other economic and operational reasons to look at quitting these types but nevertheless ADS-B retro-installation is not cheap so it would be a factor. Not sure what the ADS-B schedule is in NZ.

My logger shows MVA still switched off just under an hour ago... but F-OIPS, another Air Caledonie ATR72-500, arrived with ADS-B on earlier this arvo
