New receiver is on that coastline, so reaches out to sea.. no mountains = no obstructions except for the curvature of the earth. So hes off the bat reaching a lot further than most of us on the east coast on the other side you see.

          • Im the one from Hoki,Even with the alps to the east I still seem to get roughly 82nm or so easterly, which is around CHCH.
Thinking of raising antenna afew feet(when I get some bits and pieces)just to see if range gets any better in other directions

How is F-larm data collected out of interest?gliders1.jpg

              • The FLarm data is being sent from the http://live.glidernet.org server to FR24 server.
People with the FLarm receivers uploading to that above site and the data is being forward to FR24 server.

Some data showing in New Zealand

                    • That's approximately 288nm or 533km. I've had 235nm today on a VOZ flight routing MEL-AKL and that's with a lowly Dongle, so good shot Coaster!

                          • Ahh. Odd. They use to go via here with the option of booking and departing via the INTL terminal on the same tokyo numbering. And get processed in AKL.

Wonder if they now process them all as destination here then bump them across to domestic instead of the dual terminal drama in AKL

Will see the 777 closer to Christmas again possibly then

Hah. Strange cause MLAT don't tend to do route lookups at all unless their is a secondary mode-s tx with the callsign
