    • Certainly shows your signals boom in more than mine, But there appears to still be a bit of to-n-fro around the outter skirts.

Also highlights my other issue, the clock on the laptop appears to run fast. And causes AC to go backwards in plot until such time it re-syncs

      • ZK-FXT txing extended once more.

As per nzradar/NZPM finding a month or so ago, ZK-FXT was txing full details again last night it seems (PST40). That or the SBSs pick it up when my micro is unable to.

        • Time to mock and ridicule my antennas Not bad for a twisted piece of wire to get as far as I do though.

                  • PBN82 9-1-12 ZK-PBL

I think she was feeling a bit ill today, I thought it was the new radar unit I was running, so I stopped sharing. Then NZCH took over the same antics. It appears to be showing right alt and latidude, but the longitude is all over the place.

                    • Hi Craig,

Sorry didn't see PBN82. I was getting some beauty sleep before the first day at the office for 2012.

Two other interesting events yesterday though. QFA122 NZQN - YSSY came via Christchurch. I have seen this before, but it never shows in schedule as coming via NZCH.
Also QFA018 Buenos Aries to Sydney dropped into NZCH for about 90 minutes late yesterday afternoon. There were 385 on board on both arrival and departure, so it could not have been for a sick passenger or crew. Maybe for Gas, although I would have thought we would see it more often, if it has encountered strong headwinds. Any ideas??

                      • Word has it from a contact up north in the trade, QF18 was a pre-planned (with a very funny arrival track) drop off for exactly that, unwell crew swap with possibly another QF member (and maybe splash-n-dash).

I can't tell from planeplotter what it was but I caught one of yesterdays doing a perfect circle over ashburton which looked cool.

PS.. stop tweaking your antenna.. putting me to shame now!

I contacted Hi-Tech just before the break to see if they still do a 1090 specialised. But being the tinkerer I am I may try another couple of DIY antennas before going to extremes. I'm getting less distance with a Transponder-Mouse (beast v2) than the microadsb, but stronger signals closer in.

                        • Do you have a private email I can contact you at? I am sure that I can assist you in getting your receiver setup working to it's optimum.

Whacked a few mm off my bottom element tonight. Seems I had it a bit too long. See if it makes any change. Had some VERY strange occurances earlier. Required a restart of PP

Mode-S/A/C packets were not incrementing, but the first number was (acars?)

                            • Jetstar will end its three- times-a-week Brisbane-to- Christchurch flights from March 25 - services that date back to 2005 when the airline chose New Zealand as its first international destination.
But are increasing the CHC-OOL run

                              • Hey guys,

New to this place, interested in setting up ADS-B down here in the deep south in time for the new ATR-72's which I understand have ADS-B in 'em.

Anyway, today's question - NZ1960 left NZAA 1400hrs for Nadi. It was a 747. I don't know of any ANZ 747's ever going there, and the flight number alone is enough to raise my eye. Relief workers maybe for the storms over there?
