    Hi,
today in switzerland there had been a DSL maintenance done by the provider.
During this time the ModeS shows an error2 in line 82 (it was not very well visible, is there a log somewhere ?).
After the internet connection was comming back the upload looked like working fine, but at FR24 my radar did show the planes but didnt show the squawk.
After stopping ModeS, shutting it and restarting the upload the squawk was back.
Hope this was helpfull for you finding the bug in ModeS.
    regards

      ModeS error

Hi, Ive added 3 Pics. Look to the upload window.
No.3 normal before and after the error
      No.1 and 2 shows errors
(I have made the server and logon invisible)
after the error no squawk is uploaded to FR24 until restart of ModeS,
      enjoy

Well done Charky, looks like something for the developer to look into? Persistence pays.

The error you get is problem with your internet connection. Instead of using UDP your connection fails and goes back to TCP.

There is no difference what is uploaded, the difference is how it's uploaded.

                Hi,
can you not perhaps simply find out, why after an error no squawk is uploaded, but after a restart of ModeS it works ?

                    Hi,
I am still looking for this problem and its solution.
After discussing this it had been said that the program Basestation might be the source.
So I left ModeS running, closed down Basestation, restarted it, but the squawks were still not visible at FR24 (at startup its doing a reinit of the box). After a restart of ModeS the squawks were back. A confirmation that is not Basestation is also that missing squawks are happening to the airnav box as well. And it doesnt happen to MM2 used by Net2. That points to the only solution: its ModeS.
To overcome this I have a quick but dirty solution. I setup a batchfile with the following parameter: shutdown -r -f -t 21600
This shutsdown and restarts the computer every 6h. I put this together with ModeS and Basestation in the autostart folder.

The bad thing: its closing all applications without saving !!!
But I didnt care because it solves another problem with basestation. After running basestation for some weeks the windows swapfile is getting bigger and bigger, starting around 1GB it increases around 150kB per day, and if it reaches 3-4GB all applications are crashing. I am using W7 32bit.

If somebody has a better solution please let me know.

Charky: NET2 data is sent to FR24 by ModeS.exe running on my office computer. So as I told you, the problem is basestation.

Strange that Anmer doesnt know. He told me he is using MM2 on all his Net2 radars and has no problem with his data upload.
Nevertheless, this restart solves the problem for me.

Charky: Anmer is using MMS2, yes. And data from MMS2/NET2 is sent to FR24 from my office computer running ModeS.exe. And yes everything works.
