  • colored aircraft symbols

I would like to have the possibility to change the color of all of the aircrafts on the map, depending on the altitude.
That means, a tick-box which enables the color-change of the aircraft symbols similar to the corresponding track color.
This would a big advantage, to see immediately the altitude of an aircraft on the map.

    • In addition to the post above:
to distinguish a selected aircraft from the other aircrafts, wich are colored depending on the altitude,
a good possibility would be to draw a small (eventually animated) circle around the selected airplane.

      • Hi, I just wondered if it would be possible to super impose the airway corridors onto the maps, with their detail. ie FL's, names etc.

        Thanks

        • The aircraft labels we select in the settings menu is not shown on the aircraft we have selected on the map. I really would like to have it shown on the selected aircraft, because that is the one I am following, and the one I wish to see data like speed and altitude changes for. I know the data are in the menu on the left, but it seems odd that they are shown on the map for all other aircrafts than the one I am atually looking at.

          • Day / night layer

            Hi

Would it be possible to insert an option to switch on a day/night layer, showing where the sun shines an where its dark. Google maps has the feature.

Can't find any information about this in Google Maps API, only found this: http://www.daylightmap.com/get_your_own.php
Do you have any more information?

              • would it be possible when using the radar filter, to be able to type in a radar code i.e EGSS or EGLC.

when I have been trying to look at someone elses radar coverage it is sometimes difficult to catch it in the drop down list of radar codes, even my own sometimes!

                regards, Gordon, EGSS1.

                • This is all i have:

                  On Google's My Maps

The basic day/night display can be overlaid onto maps.google.com, thanks to Google's My Maps feature. Click this button to add DaylightMap to your list of map content providers:

Yes, but this is not part of Google Map API, but a private software, that will cost a couple of thousand USD per month to use.

                    • It would be great to see statistics for each airport. For example amount of 747s arrived to specific airport since specified date.. or total amount of traffic since specified date. Personally i am interested in heavy birds in my local airport & i wish to know how many heavy planes were here.. To make it even further you can draw a frequency diagram of traffic or something..

                      • I would like to see a last known position and time of that position when the aircraft is lost from Mode-s coverage. This would hep me find flights that have landed and are on turnround.

                        • new fetures on map are really cool THX,i 've a suggestion to put a lighting zone/ storm zone on map. it could be interesting beacouse as we know stroms are frequently passed by planes so they are not on their usual routs.
i don't know data source but you may see such data on map on: www.sat24.com or blids.de

                          • You know when you click on an aircraft it usually tells you whjere its going from / to is there any possibility of adding something called positioning flight as there are flights on positioning flights and they use the same callsign on diffrernt flights. Thanks

                            • First idea:
Hi i bought both the iPhone and Mac Os app and i use the web interface allot
The Web interface is pretty cool, the iPhone app rocks but the Mac App really sucks!

I miss a similar search option (online or in the mac.App as i have in the iPhone app:
The one where all airliner companies and organizations are listed. So you can search by company or organization. Please integrate something similar either to the mac app or to the web interface.

                              second idea:

It would be nice if you could make an AI engine that would fake(or guess) the route of planes not in range.
Those planes would be colored light gray etc... this would work for cross atlantic flights etc...

                              • Is it possible to link to Liveatc.net especially for those airports with ground traffic? If so then could the Callsign include the name used by the Airline eg Speedbird, Springbok or whatever
