  • Data that are displayed on the map

    Hi everyone,

got really curious about how does the product work, so took some time to study the articles on the website and go through the technologies' explanations, etc. (by the way, thanks for such a detailed explanation of everything, it really matters!)
The only question I still have is how actually all those data about aircrafts and their movements are getting visualised? I mean, clearly there is a DB with all the info, there is a map itself taken from Google (as the icon at the bottom of the screen shows), but how it is displayed? My understanding the positions are getting requested from the data base every N seconds and then the aircrafts are displayed on the map via any frontend stuck? But if so, what make them moving constantly?

Wondering if anyone understands how it works.

Aircraft send updates of positing 2-3x every 2sec. The map+estimation based on last 2 position does rest until next update.

Aha, so that's how that effect of a real time movement is appearing, by displaying the current position and then moving to the object to the next approximated one, so it looks like the aircrafts are constantly moving. Interesting, thank you for the info!
