    I'm following on FR24 mostly commercial ad-hoc flights within Europe. For some flights (some operators) the destination is shown, sometimes (other operators) for destination only "N/A" is shown. All flights are commercial, non-scheduled IFR with flight plan. What makes a flight complete that departure AND destination is shown?

    Hey! We don't show destination airport for flights that we don't receive an advanced schedule information for. The flight schedule does not come from the aircraft, it comes from a third party. Then we compare this data with our ADS-B data.

      I would like to revive this post because I have noticed a new phenomenon since my previous post. While over the past year I have often noticed that many flights are displayed with the destination N/A, I now find that flights are very often displayed with the wrong destination.

      On the attached sreenshot you can see our D-FUNG on a flight from PAD/EDLP to LEJ/EDDP but which was shown as flight "PAD to QGY".

      If you look into the aircraft history of our D-FUNC the last “real” flight to QGY/LHPR (Hungary) was on the 2nd of March, 2022. All flights from 9th of March 2022 had been local flights but all flights are documented as flights from IZE to QGY …


      Is there any explanation for this or is this simply a program error?

        Uses the exact same callsign each time?

        If so.. there is the answer. If it doesn't have a registered flightplan from the provider they get it from. Uses last discovered. New end location may not change, because its guessed.

          Dear Oblivian,

          thank you for the quick response. What is a callsign of a flight plan? It's usually the aircraft registration for all non-ICAO registered operators (mostly private or corporate). If you are an ICAO registered commercial operator with an AOC you will receive a 3 letter designator (3LD) from ICAO. For example, "DLH" as Lufthansa, followed by a flight number 1 to 5 digits) which will be given by the operator. In case an operator is performing scheduled services (like Lufthansa) the flight number might (not must!) correspond to a specific route flown as a regular scheduled service, e.g. DLH411 for the route JFK-MUC.

          In case of a commercial operator, not flying scheduled services it's up to the operator to give what ever flight number to the callsign. In our case the ICAO-3LD is "FNK" (long designator = "FUNKY"), we are operating mostly ad-hoc cargo and air taxi flights, so no scheduled routes. The reason why we just numbered our aircrafts 1 to 4. FNK1 to FNK4 = FunkyOne ... and so on. A more popular example may be "AirforceOne". But also rescue helicopter or other non-scheduled services may have a fixed number given once to the aircraft. Therefore, the logic to assume a destination from the last flight with a given flight number may (not must!) only work if the aircraft is performing scheduled services. In all other cases it says nothing about the destination of a specific flight.

          Isn't there the possibility for FR24 to register to EuroControl's NOP system? In that case you will have access to all flight plans of flights already planned or currently airborne.

            You're asking in the wrong place if you want their commercial partners to also do small business details.

            Then you won't see the right to/from you are asking.

            And as you point out - It's in your screenshots. It is transmitting FNK2. All the time

            So if it goes to different places. While sending FNK2. It doesn't know the real route. Because its not supplied by third party. So it uses 'close radar' or 'last known' to fill the gaps.

              ...and same with UAF1, better known as "AirforceOne"?

              If there is a logic to use "last known" as possible destination, it may only used for operators with an IATA, but not only ICAO designator, as only IATA operators are performing scheduled service. In all other cases "last known" can't be taken as destination.
