25/04/10 - Tracking Ryan Air RYR6NZ from John Lennon to Alicante and lost it around Orleans is it due to not much tracking capability/activity around those regions?.

French authorities are not too keen on aircraft being tracked and data being shared.

The site is located www.radarvirtuel.com Rennes in France so the authorities have nothing to do with the lack of aircraft.

Yes there is a lack of contributors, but that seems to remain true Radarvirtuel

That's not what I hear. Even PP has few French sharers. Also ask the distributers of ModeS receivers how well they sell in France.

I am in process of purchasing a receiver.

I live down just outside Alicante in Spain.

                Hi everybody..

I've started to read about the lack of spanish local receivers. What about Balearic Islands? Is there any receiver working here?
                Thanks for this great webpage.....

Hi Folks. I'm a newbie on this site & have been looking it over for a week or so. Being an X pilot myself, the fascination remains! I must say I'd like to applaud robin for getting a receiver. I'd do exactly the same but my location (near AGP.....Malaga) is such that it wouldn't be very useful. I'm backed by mountains so coverage would be very limited & only catch planes literally flying overhead & not even catch flights approaching to land at AGP which (if you didn’t know) is a very busy airport. More robins please!

                          Thanks

Hopefully I will get my receiver in a few days, shipped from UK to Spain tuesday.

I will take me a little while to set it up fully.

robin. Should make a heck of a difference especially if you can locate it with a clear view of the skies which unfortunately. I can't do. Good luck.

There's a PlanePlotter - Getting Started Guide over on Radarspotters if it helps:
