That's where my problem first arose yesterday. I downloaded the armv61.deb file yesterday and using the sudo dpkg -i fr24feed_1.0.13-2_armv61.deb the file failed to install. See screenshot from yesterday.

      • And the 2nd package (deb.1) isn't working,too ? Maybe the package is corrupt, but I don't know. I'm still at 1.0.12-3

No mate, neither of them are working correctly. I have put in a support request to fr24 support to see if they look into it for me.

For now, I'll just continue to use my 242 version. As it works without issues.

That's kind of a relief, that you are getting the same error message. I thought it may have been because I was doing something wrong, even though I know little about Linux and RPi's etc. I'll keep using my old version until a fix or as you say, an auto-updated was mentioned.

              Thanks again equi.

              So,

              • Hi,

Yes your architecture is ARMV v6l and yes you're looking for the .deb file.
It's the very first file on this page.

                Regards,
                Yan.

                  Hi Yan,

Thanks but I know where the file is and I also know which one to use. If you read back on Page 52, you'll see the start of my conversation and the problem I am having.

                  Cheers.

                  • Hi,

On message #518 your screenshot was showing you trying to do dpkg -i on .tgz file. However I see you're also have trouble with the .deb package. It seems other people do too. I hope it will be corrected soon.

                    Regards,
                    Yan.

Guilty lol. I was trying everything to get the .deb and .tgz files to work. Still not working. So, I'm still using my old "image" of arm242 in my RPi.

I might just dump the RPi and revert back to using my SBS1er and Windows package but then, I'll only be feeding when my PC is online. No win situation.

                        • Hi,

I was using it on a Cubie Board and it was working great, I also fed other website from it.
I should have the "old" package on my hard drive.
Please write a comment with your e-mail on the website below, I will send you the .deb package.

                          Regards,
                          Yannick.

                          • Hello,

I've been running the Linux 64bit fr24feed software for about a week and I've only just realised that it hasn't actually been feeding data properly.

From what I can tell everything seems to be working. The dump1090 web interface is happily tracking flights around my local area. I'm only using the standard non-specialised desktop antenna for my RTL-SDR adapter, but I'm getting around 70 NM of distance which is fine for the time being. I didn't know about the fr24feed web interface but now I've accessed it it is saying:

                            FR24 Link: Connected via UDP
FR24 Radar Code: HIDDEN (I do have a radar code)
                            Aircraft Tracked (ModeS & ADS-B): 0
                            Aircraft Uploaded: N/A
                            Receiver: dvbt, Connected

On the command line there's no obvious errors, everything seems connected fine and it's pinging every 30 seconds.

Would anyone know where I'm going wrong?

fr24feed seems to be restarting dump1090 every 10 mins, is this normal?

                            • Hi,

I'm not sure, but I guess you're not receiving enough ADSB data.
I'm note sure about the numbers but I think you have to receive at least frames from 2 aircraft simultaneously every second.
You should really install an external antenna. You can easily build one from RG-6 alike TV antenna cable.

Once you receive enough ADSB data to accurately track at least 2 aircrafts, you will be allocated a radar code.

                              Regards,
                              Yan.
