  • Hi Oblivian,

    Thanks for the tip, but I've tried both (task manager and restart) and the problem persists...

    • During my attempts to get VRS, FR24Feed, Planeplotter & FA working on a Windoze 64 bit PC (and while I have no idea why) I did find that often the previous decoder program was still running in the background, even though I "X'ed out" closed it, etc. I finally put task manager in the systray so I could easily get to it and sure enough most times a decoder was still running, "End the task" and start over.

      After many trying moments I did get everything running together at the same time and all the outbound server feeds running.

      • Also after many trying moments it seems that, somehow, the problem was with the DVB stick driver (windows update to blame??). After uninstalling and installing everything step-by-step, the problem was solved when I got to the driver....

        Thank you for the help.

        P.S. The link for the latest windows version of the feeder (1.0.15-7) is missepeled... (it has a "-" instead of an "_" between win32 and 1.0.15-7.zip

        • Glad you got it all worked out.

          Well, at least I won't have to worry about any driver updates for a while anyway.
          I had an old Windows netbook with 32 bit Win 7 Starter. I upgraded it to Win 10 64 bit almost a month ago, no problem. Now suddenly it says I have to "Activate Windows", the product key is invalid.
          So no updating and to be honest I'm not sure with it just running the decoder & radar server program(s), updating the OS will be that important for a while.

          I've got a homebrew antenna & LNA on the roof, I want to experiment with the decoder "radio" options, so I just ordered another USB dongle. I split the antenna feed and I'll put the dongle on my laptop and see what I can learn.
          I keep it updated, so I'll watch for changes.

          • I've just installed fr24feed_win32_1.0.15-7
            Decoder works fine and I am feeding to FR24
            When I try to see the flights in my own PC using gmap.html I can´t see planes nor the clocks and get errors in the Chrome Versión 46.0.2490.80 m
            FileNotFound.jpg

            I've tried to solve it adding https: to the path
            <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.9.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
            <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.10.3/jquery-ui.min.js"></script>

            but now I get another error
            CrossOrigin.jpg

            My fr24feed.ini settings are:

            receiver="dvbt"
            fr24key="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"
            path="mr-dump1090.exe"
            bs="no"
            raw="no"
            logmode="0"
            windowmode="0"
            mpx="no"
            mlat="no"
            mlat-without-gps="no"

            What can I do to make it work?

            • Hi I just tested the new feeder for windows.
              Works fine except i have have one big problem:
              I have 2 RTL Stick Feeds, and i cant run the feeder software twice (using 2 copies in different folders), the second doesn't boot...just black windows.
              But this would be logical, as only one can occupy the http port 8754, how can i change the default http port ?
              Also i have a suggestion: Till now i used modesdeco2 decoder, witch has a really helpful command parameter when using more than one stick --device-serial instead of --device-index, would be nice to see that in mr-dump1090.

              • I don't think you can change the web port for Fr24feed.
                But others you can add custom dump1090 commands to the .ini file (or configure while other closed) to change the internal display port or devices in dump1090, They are passed as it launches.

                Run sudo fr24feed start (no 'service') to see what it outputs to ensure you have right parameters being passed.

                • That's bad, so it is not possible to start two fr24feeders on the same computer ?
                  With the old software that was no issue, would start 2 sperarte modesdeco2 decoder and 2 fr24feeders.

                  If i start the second one the fr24feeder console is only black, no output there, Log file is empty.
                  Ah after a while get the error message: There's already a FR24Feed running, please terminate it first.

                  So one can asume, this does not work, because nobody thought of that during writing this software.
                  Only one solution now: back to the old feeder...
                  Suggestion: Remove Error Message/check for already running and add config entry for feeder status page http port change. There is no reason for this limitation, if the ports a correctly configured for each feed, this does work.

                  I know that i can give commands to dump109, i already do so:
                  Feed 1: --device-index 0 --gain 49.6 --net --net-http-port 8006 --net-ro-port 47806
                  Feed 2: --device-index 1 --gain 49.6 --net --net-http-port 8007 --net-ro-port 47807

                  Rest of config:

                  receiver="dvbt"
                  fr24key="**************"
                  path="mr-dump1090.exe"
                  bs="no"
                  raw="no"
                  logmode="0"
                  mlat="no"
                  mlat-without-gps="no"
                  procargs="--device-index 0 --gain 49.6 --net --net-http-port 8006 --net-ro-port 47806"
                  windowmode="1"

                  • Something you can try, run your 2 dump1090 seperately. And configure the 2 command instances as above so you have both copies going.
                    Configure feed SW to use AVRTCP on the 30002 port instead. At present it will try to launch 1090 itself and may be restrictive. On Rpi thats how it runs, D1090 is started and FR24 used a TCP connection to the output for the MLAT data.

                    • Thanks, that could/should work. But it totally defeats the purpose of "All In One". I decided to stay with the old feeder software, i hope in a future version it will work.

                      • The old ver servers are going off in the next couple of weeks. It's not designed really designed for multi feed. Given it has potential to get data wrong

                        • Okay i now use the new one. I run my two modesdeco2 decoders as usual, but with additional avr output, and fr24feeder with avrtcp. So nothing changes for my local VRS.
                          But from now on i only upload one stick to fr24. Even with avrtcp only one feeder app can be started.
                          Just for clarity: I have 2 dvbt sticks, both have different coverage, due too obstacles. One covers north of my house, the other south.
                          Till now i uploaded data from the sticks with 2 feeder apps, with separate feeder IDs. Independently, no mixing, using different ports.
                          I am very disappointed with the new feeder software, it needs improvement. Besides that the documentation is also outdated, for instance i don't get a tray icon by default, i have to set manually --windowmode="1". Also there is no dvbtmr anymore, i think its always this. And the raw option is useless, you cant even define a port, so using --net with dump1090 it is. And why does the console have to be a command window ? if you click x on the console it shutsdown the feeder, should go back to tray, too confusing to click on the tray icon and select toggle console just to hide it.
                          Don't get me wrong i love sharing my data, but both old and new feeders are not well written.

                          • just using the latest version on a new install, rasp pi.
                            I'm surprised the wizard never ask me for a my GPS coordinate.
                            Isn't it necessary ?

                            Also, when using Process arguments: --net --net-http-port 8080
                            there is nothing happening on that port
                            When doing from the linux shell ./dump1090 --net --net-http-port 8080, it works just fine

                            • Have a small question. I feed with dongle and with FR24feed 1.0.14-9 under Windows7. How I can use planePlotter software with fr24feed?
                              With rtl1090 PlanePlotter works fine, with fr24feed - didn't work.
                              What I need to connect fr24feed with PlanePlotter?
