  • Politics and technology simply does not mix.

FR24 is here to collect flight data and share it with the world. As for the majority of us, YES, we would like to see what flies where and when some commercial passenger jet might be targeted by some trigger-happy extremist, or might be targeted by some government who simply does not like the colours of the particular aircraft, as it might (not) have some political meaning.

As for the those who does not like information to be shared, or reports of what is going on, then it looks to the rest of us like there is indeed something going on which the minority prefers to hide from the rest of us. If your nose is clean, you don't have anything to worry about.

No reason to turn the boxes off now. Maybe there was a reason before the 'lads' shot a passenger aircraft down - but not now!
Request to turn off radars in South-East Ukraine from 19Jul

we don't know what might be tomorrow, they can shoot aircraft at russian territory. Many russian civil aircraft fly near Ukraine border

Except the SA-11 sites have their own targeting radar. FR24 isn't going to provide information that will change their ability to target.

          • Hello

            Here's one more record 232mn.

But how is it possible since I have the original antenna (antenna + dongle 8dolars)

The antenna is about 11 meters from the ground and has no buildings in frontSem fffff.jpg

            • The number shows the highest range during that day. But it can be only one single signal. Check the Histogram to view where you have seen it.

In this example range says 308 nm, but most traffic is below 250 nm.

Nice! Another feeder near me. Decent MLAT coverage around Louisiana now. Now we just need a site on the coast near Houma or Port Fourchon/Grand Isle to snag a lot of those low flying helicopters running in that area for the oil platform work.

                  • Hello all, just to let you know the installation at Shoreham Airport (F-EGKA2) is now up and running. The aerial is mounted on the control tower roof and so far gives coverage out to 328nm (maximum distance) with line of sight to the horizon across the English Channel. We're very pleased to be able to support FR24 and give something back to the community.

                    Kind regards,

                    Shoreham Airport ATC

Hello good to hear from an airport no matter big or small. FR24 has been working on sending their kits to airports and it's good to hear from one. One of the best places the host a FR24 receiver airports and will sure help improve coverage and MLAT there.

                            • Hi
If you are going to 'clip' the cable ties, cut them off flush at the lock with a craft knife, side-cutters leave a small, but exceedingly sharp, stub against which it is painful to bump your hand/ head/e.t.c. ( don't ask me how I know)
                              Have fun
                              Terry
