  • Why does the linux feeder for armv6 create a few too many bash <defunct> processes?

    for example
    23634 pts/0 00:00:00 flightradar24
    23635 pts/0 00:00:00 bash <defunct>
    23640 pts/0 00:00:00 bash <defunct>
but after a few hours I will end up with a 10 maybe 20 more processes.

dunno, but I looked at my stat's (on the premium account logon) - I do very little feeding at 2AM so i've got a cron job that kills dump1090 and the feeder at that time, then restarts them.

Killing the feeder allows the zombies die properly.

Yes, i've just created a cronjob to kill any zombie processes along with the feeder, and to restart the feeder on a 10 minute schedule. it's quite a messy and shouldn't be like it.

        • Good evening everyone.

I updated my Odroid U3 (Arm platform) on Ubuntu 13.10 to the latest 241 statically linked version and have been feeding for nearly 48 hours using the newer feeder software. My premium stats page indicate a live feed but a message stating that there is no recent data for this radar is displayed. I am also able to see that my data is being used when filtering my feed code. Is there a longer time delay before I can see how my station is performing ?

          Screengrab attached.

          Thank you in advance.

          Kind regards

          Andy

          • I had same problem on my Odroid-U3 with Ubuntu 13.10. To solve it I downgraded to previous feeder static version 232... It works fine.

              Hi Dauren

              Many thanks for your reply.

I was referring to the new feed stats page with version 241 as per PeterHR's post above. My feed is working fine with the Odroid-U3 and 241. 232 doesn't I believe, have the statistics but I could be totally wrong

              Kind regards

                • Sadly not available - Maybe the busy team at FR24 need to flick a switch on their database to enable the feature on my feed or as Dauren stated there are issues with my feeder on Ubuntu 13.10

                  • Are current upload rate, online since etc. features only for fr24 receivers?

                    • Hi I thought that until I saw this post by PeterHR. Who uses a RPI hence my questions here. As I now think that the issue may be related to my account, I emailed support yesterday evening. I will post here how I get on.

                      Thanks for your support.

                      • Hi,

I am successfully using a DVB-T stick and dump1090 to scan my area and today I found the following picture on the web:

                        d1090.jpg

As I am going to install a new antenna today or tomorrow I would like to compare coverage. Does anybody know how to visualize the coverage area as it is visiable on that screenshot?

                        • The software used is from bdavenports github.
Dump1090 is a simple Mode S decoder for RTLSDR devices - GitHub - mindlesstux/dump1090 at mapRefactorSettings

What I did with my build is use Malcom Robb's dump1090 and bdavenports webgui.

                          • Hmmm. Is webgui what I find as dump1090-helper in Github? (https://github.com/bdavenport/dump1090-helper)

Right now I am running bdavenport's fork of dump1090 and I downloaded dump1090-helper, but how do I connect both?

                            • Hi yes it is dump1090 helper sorry.. You need to move all the files in dump1090-helper/dump1090 folder and replace gmap.html which resides in your dump1090 executable directory.

                              • I used the standard dump1090 - the --net pareter enables the map display on http://ipaddress:8080
