  • Jan 2023 - Notification - "Flightradar24 feeder XXX is running outdated version"

    Hello,

today I received an email, that I am running an outdated version:

    Dear Host,

We have noticed that you are using an older version of Flightradar24 data sharing software (1.0.25-3) that we are phasing out. We would therefore like you to upgrade to the latest version (1.0.34-0) before Feb 28, 2023.

Follow the procedure given below to upgrade:
SSH into your pi and login to it.
Run the following commands - one at a time:
    sudo chmod +x /usr/lib/fr24/fr24feed_updater.sh
    sudo /usr/lib/fr24/fr24feed_updater.sh

If you don’t know how to SSH, check this article. Make sure you have auto updates enabled.

If you run into any problems, don’t hesitate to contact us at support@fr24.com

Thank you in advance for your attention and as always for your support.

If I run that commands, I get following output on my Debian Linux server:

    Best regards,
    The Flightradar24 team

    Code:
    sudo chmod +x /usr/lib/fr24/fr24feed_updater.sh
    sudo /usr/lib/fr24/fr24feed_updater.sh
    /dev/sda1 on / type ext4 (rw,relatime,errors=remount-ro)

    Installed version: 1.0.25-3
    Latest available: 1.0.25-3
    Latest version is already installed
How may I update to 1.0.34-0?
Or is the mail wrong? Cause the FR24 website also says, that 1.0.25-3 is the latest version for Linux: https://www.flightradar24.com/share-your-data

Same thing here when running FR24 on Debian11.
Looks like the RPi software has been updated but the general Linux has not.

Same here, fr24 feed wants us to update, yet they do not provide updated deb amd64 package.

        Latest package in ubuntu/debian repo:

        Code:
        deb http://repo.feed.flightradar24.com flightradar24 linux-stable
        is version 1.0.25-3 .

Update script by fr24 does not provide newer version:

        Code:
        # /usr/lib/fr24/fr24feed_updater.sh
        /dev/sda2 on / type ext4 (rw,noatime,errors=remount-ro)

        Installed version: 1.0.25-3

        Latest version is already installed

When installing using the standard Debian manner you can upgrade to 1.0.34. Took me less than 5 minutes and seems to work fine.

I'm using 1.0.18-8 version in OSX and now I'm out of support
Wanted to upgrade to Raspberry, but the prices skyrocketed (if you can find one).

Is there any choice to upgrade the OSX version?.
                        Please

Don't you know the world only has PIs and FM tuners for receivers now?...

More to the end of everyone else it seems. (I have a beast classic feeding since about 2012 and a others for years prior beta testing the old windows upload apps)

The only reason I've not, was the newer versions seemed a back step and went back to bad relay servers and input connection limit issues. Timing out or not allowing multiple inbound connections without crashing it at some point which negates local raw logging and plane plotter etc.

WOnder how long until I cant feed it pre processed beast data...

wonder what rOS changes. Informative. I recall them saying we would be informed via forums and asked to test versions before going out wider since it's the first place beside Facebook people turn to

                            that worked well.

After failed update attempts I also got these links from FR24 support, but to be honest, I don't know what to do with these. I have a Pi3 B+ and I put it together a few years ago and can't remember much anymore.

So looks like no easy way for me to upgrade from 1.0.23-8 to 1.0.34-0 as FR24 supplied commands does not work?

If there is step by step instructions somewhere???
