      Have installed v 1.01 and am getting the status as online but no aircraft or positions reported, same as markr468 uat_reader.log shows positions. Is the fr24 website still not processing UAT data?

        I think the current version is 1.0.3. Is listed in the first post.
        I can see my status online and reporting AC and positions. It went off-line and I had to restart the service on the pi to get it back up
        Note, however, that none of the AC that I feed via UAT actually show up on big map. Sometimes the AC show up as MLAT, but more often than not they don't show up at all. Guess they are still not processing it

          Guys, this is not sustainable nor healthy: 1.4 GB after a week of operation

            In Toronto it is usual to have long periods when there is no UAT traffic. During such period FR24 UAT server breaks the connection.

              So, basic feature must-haves for UAT
              • Proper resetting of the connection during periods of low-traffic. dump978-fa automatically restarts during these times. Seems uat_reader does not handle this entirely correctly.
              • Limit the log-file size.
              • Remove the intake of TIS-B by fr24. I do NOT see 1500 aircraft a day. More like 150.

                followed the first post in the thread to install v1.03, but in the debug for the install the version was 1.00 the next version mentioned was 1.01. Can anyone verify that the actual installed version is 1.03 or anything past 1.01?

                  I tried downloading all of them just now. They are different sizes. That is all I know

                    There is no changelog included in the .deb packages of either uat_reader or fr24feed, whereas other feeders like rbfeeder include the changelog (scroll down to file list of rbfeeder and see the red colored line)

                          I see that logging as well. However, I do not see a single locally tracked UAT aircraft on the main page when I filter for my radar. Instead the logged aircraft are simply not visible in FR24 (some but not all are tracked by MLAT).

                            Same result here, searched for current UAT aircraft on feeder web interface and none were showing up on fr24 webpage. Feeder statistics for UAT feeder, just missing the data conversion into the main fr 24 map.

                              Every time I reboot my Pi, uat_reader fails to start. Looks like it has trouble resolving DNS and times out:

                              This could be because my Pi is also serving as a caching BIND 9 DNS server, so uat_reader may be opening before BIND is fully loaded and operational.

                              If I remember or notice that my UAT feeder is offline, I can cure it by manually issuing a sudo systemctl restart uat_reader and everything works swimmingly. It's just that initial startup on boot that's problematic.

                              Any way to either increase the number of retries or delay starting uat_reader until after the system is up and stable? (I don't have this issue with other UAT packages like FA's and ADSBX's.)
