  • FR24 feeder service needing to be manually started every reboot (Pi)

    This is new.

I feed to some sites including FR24, using Piaware as the base image.

I had a problem with RB mlat client not playing nicely with other feeders so I resolved that, then discovered that the FR feed had stopped, I restarted it manually and all was well, then I shut down to do a back up of my SD Card, and upon rebooting, discovered the FR feed had again not started up with the Pi.

I don't tend to reboot that often so it may well have been an issue for a while and I just never noticed, is there a command I can enter to ensure the Fr feed auto starts with the Pi every time it reboots.

They seem to have introduced a bug that makes the fr24feed fail if the dump1090-fa isn't yet started or something, not sure.
It leads to the service exceeding the restart limit, then failing.

You can use these instructions to get a systemd service that will keep trying to start it (and hopefully succeeding at some point after boot):

No need to install a decoder or Raspbian obviously, you have both of those covered.
