    Oops, I missed that you and hotaru have Arch Linux, not Debian.

    The Github link which I posted above is for Debian & Ubuntu

    P.S.
    In November 2018, I have posted a script which builds from source code, dump1090-fa for Arch Linux. You may be interested to have a look there.

      I am on Docker actually. I made my own Alpine based images for a lot of ADS-B software and some tools. Hope to publish that soon. Great way to manage, no bs with auto updates, etc.

        Sonic: Segfaulting (exiting due to bad memory access) like for the others.

          Just in case the dev working on it is reading this, some valgrind output:
          Code:
          ==10406== Process terminating with default action of signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
          ==10406== Access not within mapped region at address 0x63
          ==10406==    at 0x5D5A301: internal_getent (files-XXX.c:173)
          ==10406==    by 0x5D5B4D6: _nss_files_gethostbyname3_r (files-hosts.c:352)
          ==10406==    by 0x5D5B5FD: _nss_files_gethostbyname_r (files-hosts.c:380)
          It's quite clear they have tailored this program very much on the RPi without regard for compatibility.
          I guess that's why they didn't publish a current amd64 version.

              I guess it is the difference in kernel or package versions then. Too much hassle.
              Let me know if you are interested in the Docker way.

                (1) I am using Debian 10 amd64

                (2) When I installed fr24feed using deb package (fr24feed_1.0.24-5_amd64.deb), it did not upload any planes.I uninstalled it by following command:

                sudo dpkg --purge fr24feed

                (3) Next I installed fr24feed using Linux Binary (fr24feed_1.0.24-5_amd64.tgz) it is working OK.

                This is the bash script I used to install Linux Binary:

                sudo bash -c "$(wget -O - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/abcd567a/fr24feed-debian-ubuntu-amd64/master/install-fr24feed_1.0.24-5_amd64.tgz.sh)"

                  Ok, tonight I will try on Ubuntu also.
                  On which version you tried to install fr24feed (Ubuntu 18 Bionic LTS or 19 Disco)?

                    Ubuntu 18 Bionic LTS.

                    I had issues with the WiFi driver - I have updated the Ubuntu with the included updater and... WiFi stopped working. And LAN too.
                    Reinstalled Ubuntu - works. Update happens - not working anymore.
                    Dell Wireless WLAN 1530 Half MiniCard (with proprietary drivers tick mark set during installation).
                    I guess those are the ones:
                    https://www.dell.com/support/home/us...latitude-e6420

                    I have read on askUbuntu and someone asked the same question and an answer suggested to load an older kernel when booting with Grub. Lo and behold the WiFi is working again!!!

                    Linux is so great.

                          Just for anyone using OpenSUSE, I have added installation file for it also.
                          The only difference between Debian/Ubuntu and OpenSUSE installations is in location of service file.
                          In Debian/Ubuntu the file fr24feed.service is located in folder /lib/systemd/system/
                          In OpenSUSE the file fr24feed.service is located in folder /usr/lib/systemd/system/ (the folder /lib/systemd/system/ does NOT exist in OpenSUSE)[/I]

                          Here is the bash command for OpenSUSE:

                          sudo bash -c "$(wget -O - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/abcd567a/fr24feed-debian-ubuntu-amd64/master/install-OpenSUSE-fr24feed_1.0.24-5_amd64.tgz.sh)"

                          Code:
                          abcd@linux-gpce:~> cat /var/log/fr24feed/fr24feed.log
                          ... ... ... ...
