As you have noticed you will have to have external USB port hub with external power suply and the reason is:

With the official RPi power supply or any good power supply (practically impossible to tell if it is before testing it) you shouldn't need a powered hub.
But i have never used the Pi B, maybe the old Pi is more problematic in this regard.

Decent power supply. I should have realised this already - I have a DVB-T tuner on another RPI with TVheadend which needs a powered hub. Just didn't occur to me for this. And of course the error messages don't say anything like "stick needs more power" because, that would be far too obvious!!
I'm now showing planes tracked locally and online on the FR24 website but not showing any planes on the website as being tracked (AIRCRAFT SEEN 0). Will leave it overnight and check again in the morning.

Right, so cellphone or non standard power supply?
'Real' One recommended as the sticks draw a lot from the USB ports.

Thanks... this was on a completely cleanly installed PI with nothing else on it. I've cleared it down again and this time so far just installed dump1090-mutability. Running this in interactive mode gives

Please increase your allowed usbfs buffer size with the following command:
echo 0 > /sys/module/usbcore/parameters/usbfs_memory_mb
That method to increase the usbfs buffer size doesn't work - even with sudo it gives me

Feel free to post/discuss suggestions here http://forum.flightradar24.com/threa...4840#post74840 (http://forum.flightradar24.com/threads/9875-Info-Updates-Ammendments-Placeholder?p=74840#post74840) This guide is not to be taken as officially sourced support information. 2016-01-26 22:20:14 | [reader][i]Connection terminated
Incorrect configuration set - Hardware not starting. Check for:
- USB stick does NOT have the required Realtek RTL28xx chipset or Rafael Tuner
- Conflicting software locking USB device to 'in-use'
- Error with additional commands causing Dump1090 to terminate
- Dump1090 (or similar) already currently running
And you need to find why. Be it chose 'DVBT' instead of beast-tcp when you already had feeders active. Or a fault with the stick
Need to stop all the services and run each individually and look for errors (steps also there)Last edited by Oblivian; 2019-09-07, 23:22.

New user - [reader][i]Connection terminated
Hi
Newly re-installed Raspberry PI Model B Rev 1 - apologies if this has been asked before, I've not been able to find an answer yet!
Linux pi 4.19.57+ #1244 Thu Jul 4 18:42:50 BST 2019 armv6l GNU/Linux
AirNav RadarBox FlightStick - Advanced USB ADS-B Receiver
Installed everything following the instructions. Seems to start up ok but on the webpage I get:
FR24 Link: Connected via UDP
FR24 Radar Code: T-EGWU139
Local IP(s): 192.168.0.170
Aircraft Tracked:
(ModeS & ADS-B) 0
Aircraft Uploaded: N/A
Receiver: dvbt, Connected
MLAT running: N/A
And in the logfile I get repeated:
2019-09-07 23:41:00 | [reader][i]Connecting to DVBT receiver via (exe:///usr/lib/fr24/dump1090 --raw)
2019-09-07 23:41:00 | [reader][i]Connected to the receiver, configuring
2019-09-07 23:41:00 | [reader][i]Configured, processing messages
2019-09-07 23:41:00 | [reader][i]Connection terminated
2019-09-07 23:41:00 | [main][i]Terminating child process 722 with SIGTERM
This is immediately after a sudo reboot
Any hints - very much appreciated!
Benjy
