There is no hex sequence with the Chinese! The fact that the authorities happened to issue those 5 frames in a cluster is really nothing more than a coincidence. Trying to predict hex codes for the Chinese frames will very quickly see you in hot water.

                • I probably should have made it clearer.

There is of course, no fixed sequence for China. That 737 hex [78116F] fits in with a run of other 737s, rather than 781BA9 which is like nothing else at all.
Don't know the ICAO type code? Look it up here.

I agree! But given how the Chinese issue the hex codes there was no reason to doubt it being assigned 781BA9 when it made its first flight. The 737s are already into the 781A-- block.

                          Ah, OK.

I've not got anything in my database higher than 781213 at the moment...

I stand corrected. The one I had on 781A-- was a typo that I hadn't fixed in that column. 7812-- is where I'm at too, so in your defense 781B-- is rather out of sequence even for the Chinese!
