These military serials used by the Air Force are fiscal years prefixes, essentially meaning when the US Congress budgeted money for procurement of the aircraft, not necessarily a build year. Therefore, it is not correct to list as the age of the aircraft (and why you won't typically see that listed unless a true first flight date is known).
