A question for you: instead of use fake/random hex code, why don't use correct Italian ones? As far as I know, no other companies in the world (luckly!) do something like this. Make things right would you avoid any problems like this. You may also hide the aircraft from the map or hide any aircraft details also with the correct hex code (as Vigili del Fuoco is doing since mid-July with Canadair waterbomber).
there are many reasons for the use of other codes. Some customers dont want to be identified (Im sure you know about the M346 yesterday) or the correct codes are not supplied before delivery. Sometime we have to make tactical flights. The a/c we talk about is in the DB for a long time with its correct code, for us no problem.

No other companies, maybe you look at Airbus with F-WWBX/B-005H flying from TLS which is correct the registration or the hex code, it appeared in this forum some days ago.

I know about the VdF decision, did they ask for all to hide, or just the editors forget some

PP-SDY needs to be recoded with the correct numbering on the aircraft transponder.

If the costumer don't want to be identified, well use a test hex as Airbus do with jetliners :P

However, was just for talking, you know what you're doing!

Honestly, don't know what happened with VdF, but I suppose they hide aircraft by themself (many small Canadian airlines do the same), because when they flew in France for RescUE, the two waterbombers sent weren't hide (and then hide again when they flew in Italy). If some editor would forget them, the aircraft ICAO code won't be shown

like my example from Airbus A20N c/n 11103 is it F-WWXB or B-005H? its coded Chinese but says F-WWXB on the side of the aircraft.... Its not only us that do these things.

Hiding the CL2T is going well,
