Happy hour for airplanes: an unusual first It has to be a first: American Airlines says it will give happy hour pricing next month to customers buying alcohol on its flights departing during the famous or infamous “happy hour.”
Starting Dec. 1, the carrier's "5@5" happy hour promotion will feature US$5 alcoholic drinks on flights in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean that depart between 5 p.m. and 5:59 p.m. (local times).
“As we wrap up the year, we want to show our customers that we appreciate their business. Offering an in-flight happy hour is our small way of saying thank you," Rob Friedman, AA's Vice President – Marketing, said in a release.
