  • Extreme fire danger for parts of NSW - prepare now

    Looks as if we'll be battening down the hatches tomorrow under our air conditioners or at the beach. Up to 90k/h nor-westerly winds and 39*c expected for Sydney (Thursday 10th);

    The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) has confirmed parts of the state, including Sydney, Illawarra/Shoalhaven and the Hunter, will experience Extreme fire danger tomorrow.
    NSW RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons said hot, dry and windy conditions are forecast, and there is the potential for some locations to reach Catastrophic if the weather deteriorates beyond what is forecast.

    An extreme fire danger is forecast for the following fire weather areas:

    Sydney (including the Blue Mountains and Central Coast)
    Greater Hunter

    It only reached 32*c today and the RFS (Rural Fire Service) is contending with the following at the moment;

    We've already had a few fires around Sydney last month (September) and it's only now spring;

    Not sure if the 10909SJ antenna is flameproof

    Stay cool guys
