The Serbian government is once again trying to sell financially troubled, state-owned Jat Airways—or at least find an investor willing to operate and manage a "new" Belgrade-based airline (ATW Daily News, Aug 3). Jat's total debt is estimated at about €300 million ($433 million), multiple Serbian media outlets reported.
The first tender for the sale of a 51% stake in the airline, proffered in 2008, failed owing to a lack of interest, particularly given the government's high asking price of €51 million.
