  • Alphanumeric call sign to numeric translation

Hi, guessing it must be new route time - seeing a lot of planes with unknown destinations. Is there an easy way to translate the alphanumeric call signs to numeric ones so it's possible to look up the route on the airlines' websites?

I may be misunderstanding your question but all airline codes and callsigns are alpha only eg British Airways' airline code is BAW and their call sign is Speedbird. So BA's flight 31 from Heathrow to Hong Kong will show up on FR24 as BAW31 but if you listen in to ATC communications it will be referred to as Speedbird 31. If you are simply trying to find out the destination of a flight and you have the flight number, the flight status option on most airline websites will generally give you the information.

The smart routing should kick in when its worked it out itself (or schedule provided/released)

Routing is one of the things the guys can't manually change much now, its called from a few sources or built automatically. But yeap, the european lot seem to like changing callsigns depending on seasonal shift. Which makes it hard

Here, they just change the numbers
