  • Odd aircraft at Newquay airport, Cornwall

    Hi all I was wondering if anyone could identify this odd aircraft I spotted a few minutes ago;

    When I spotted it the first thing that I thought was that it looked exactly like a VC10 but it does not appear that any of them are currently airworthy. It had a high tail wing and did not have engines mounted below the wings. When I looked on flight radar it did not give an aircraft type, but instead simply listed it as VPBLU, after a quick online search the only VPBLU I could find was a twin prop, and looked nothing like this.

    It appears that the aircraft recently came from Farnborough and before that Montreal.

    I have attached the flightradar screenshots and some admittedly poor photos, that I snapped with my phone.

    I’d be interested to see what people come up with...

    Many thanks, Grej

      Appears to be a Bombardier Global 7500 (GL7T) VP-BLU, serial number 70038, ICAO Hex code 424625.

        Thanks I’m not familiar with the type and it appeared to be in an all grey livery which made it look a bit larger than it evidently was.

        Many thanks, Grej
