i think Altitude of the plane will be different from the image of the ground, thats maybe why, or the planes could be going slightly diagonally instead of straight??? i'm not sure.

Yeah, that probably explains it, mostly. I guess the white plane comes from an initial pass, so there are four passes in all. But why are the color-separated objects, and their contrails, not aligned with the white plane? If it's a case of bad alignment of the different passes, wouldn't the entire image be blurred?

The images are taken by satellite which takes it in separate Red, Green and Blue colors of the main colors of the spectrum, but since the plane was moving fast the passes are at different positions.

Plane spotted in Google Maps satellite image
Hi, I thought I'd share a thing I spotted in a Google Maps satellite image:
I'm puzzled by the color-separated "ghost plane" seemingly flying in front of the plane. Can anybody explain what it is?Last edited by Autark; 2010-12-28, 10:25. Reason: Make sure satellite view is default, set zoom levelTags: None
