I have noticed that some deliveries of new Airbus aircraft from both Hamburg and Toulouse are passing over London on their delivery flight. Today I saw this happen again on an A321 delivery flight for Turkish Airlines. Can anyone explain why they are flying like this? Does it have something to do with lessor company rules?

Isn't is to do with the financial transaction being concluded over the UK for tax and/or legal reasons?
For example, if the aircraft is being funded by a UK bank or leasing company and the contract is to be governed by UK law.Last edited by Anmer; 2012-08-09, 06:31.
