New York-to-Phoenix Flight Diverted to St. Louis. # cases

A US Airways flight bound from New York to Phoenix was diverted to St. Louis Tuesday after three passengers acted suspiciously, the Transportation Safety Administration said.
A statement from TSA said US Airways flight 457, which took off from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, landed at Lambert Airport shortly before 8 a.m. TSA spokeswoman Sarah Horowitz would not elaborate on what exactly prompted the crew to consider the three passengers suspicious.

Freak wind hit Jetstar flight on take-off (2010)

AN AIR safety investigation into claims a Jetstar flight carrying 147 people struggled to get off the ground at Darwin airport has found it was hit by a freak tail wind.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau belatedly conducted a formal investigation into the incident after the recent Senate inquiry into airline safety heard claims via a pilots' union — contested by the airline — that the Jetstar pilots thought they were going to die.

Smoke on plane headed for UAE delays flight from India

    Published Sunday, September 11, 2011
Emirates Airlines in Dubai said it will not be able to comment on an incident of smoke reported to have caused the delay of its flight to Dubai from Kolkata airport yesterday morning.
According to a report by Times of India the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport was put on alert after ground staff saw smoke coming out of the EK0571. Fire tenders were rushed to the parking bay and the 13-member crew were asked to disembark from the flight.
Engineers later found a crack in the lubricant chamber of the plane's auxiliary power unit had caused a leak and the smoke, the report added. The flight scheduled to depart at 9.30 am finally took off with 209 passengers at around 11am.
