Hello,
During flights between US and London the BA A380 G-XLEE fly some hours at 28 000ft. As far as I saw it is specific to this tail number. It uses classical flight levels for flights to US west coast or South Africa.
Examples:
Flights BAW293 and BAW3C from LHR to Washington and return on 18/07/2023,
BAW2AR from Chicago to LHR on 17/07/2023,
BAW293 and BAW3C from LHR to Washington and return on 29/06/2023.
Does somebody know why such a strange FL is used? I imagine the fuel consumption is significantly increased.
This FL is just below the North Atlantic Organised Track System floor. Is it the reason?
