Your pictures and Mikes are the benchmark of quality.
Taking photographs of aircraft producing contrails is very rewarding. There were plenty more aircraft on route from West to East here in my location this morning, but had to stop due to work :-(

    • Thank You.

The right light is key, late at the evening you have the best light. The light must come from below and effectively illuminated the aircraft from below.

          Practice makes perfect.
There is a lot to get right in order to produce a good photograph as I'm finding out on a very steep learning curve. Camera, telescope, lens, focus, shutter speeds, aircraft position and of course weather conditions.

            Great hobby/pastime.:-)
            I agree.
It's difficult enough to get a half decent photo even with autofocus and image stabilizer!

            • Should have included how “essential” Flightradar24 is for taking photographs.
I monitor Flightradar24 in order to see what aircraft is heading in my direction, from France, West UK, London Gatwick and London Heathrow, this gives me more than enough time to prepare. Usually aircraft from LGW and LHR don’t always produce contrails as they are below 20,000ft by the time they flyover.
Presumably in the winter months contrails are produced at lower heights.
