Hi Rjdriver, welcome to the Forum.

Nice to have a pilot onboard.

      Fantastic photo's, keep them coming.

I like the one of docklands City Airport.
Is LCY as scary as it looks to land at, with it being surrounded by water, buildings and bridges.

Ah thanks alot Mike. Glad to be here.

Yes Ive been flying into LCY now for 3 years and I respect the airport very very much. I was spoiled before with long runways etc on my previous aircraft type. The rules operating in there make it simple enough for us.
We must touchdown by 3 marker lights embedded in the runway about 7 centreline lengths from the threshold maybe visible if you zoom the picture otherwise we must do a go around or face a phonecall. Its near where the Ops vehicle is parked they monitor this rule.
Theres also crosswind limits and a max gust limit, all roughly 25 knots dry and 15 wet. 5 knot tailwind allowed. Full Flap 33degree landing with airbrake out and we can go to Vref minus 7 knots. Vref being the speed at approx 50ft depended on aircraft weight.
Its always an interesting full attention approach landing (i got a camera mount!!) but no problem for the Bae146/RJ series as its kinda designed for that.

          Hi Rjdriver.

Thanks for the extra photo's of the Alps, breathtaking.

When i lived and worked in London i used take my lunch break just off the dual carriageway opposite the Airport, it was fantastic to watch aircraft coming past Canary Wharf in cross wind and then pass over the road bridge just before landing. ( I have never seen a video of an aircraft landing at LCY from the cockpit. )

The only time i have been on Bae146 was when i went to Germany with Lufthansa and i was surprised how bumpy the flight was.
