  • What should I do to avoid poor performance of BS-1105 antenna with humid weather?

    Hi all,

It seems the performance of my BS-1105 antenna is downgrade this week because of moist weather in my place.

What should I do in order to avoid poor performance with humid weather?

    Buy a better antenna!

Seriously, my testing of that antenna revealed poor results at best. I upgraded to a DPD Productions and that was very much better but the problem with that was I didn't have a suitable mast for the weight of it. I subsequently sold that when FR24 kindly sent me one of their kits and the antenna supplied with that is as good as the DPD and a whole lot lighter and thus I still have it.

I find the small whip like antennas are really not the best choice and an enclosed co-linear will perform much better in most conditions.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but antenna technology is travelling as fast as anything and the older Kinetics antennae were OK in their day but there is better today.
