  • ADSB Connectivity Problems Have Returned for Some

Some are having connectivity problems getting their ADSB data to the server. There isn't anything we or FR24 can do about it. Just keep a watch on your receiver status and log for Cannot Connect. Eventually the transit IP networks will resolve it.

Check your status page on FR24 to verify you are either online or offline.

The MLAT5 server is working ok so we can still participate in MLAT tracking just ADSB traffic is not making it to Sweden.

Kick back and have a cold drink!

      • New FR24 Receiver Coming to CDO

Just saw on the New Feeders list a new receiver is being sent to Cagayan de Oro to supplement F-RPML1 which has had limited range and/or ON/OFF issues.

Still no word on vapor talk of applications submitted for Palawan or other locations of "friends" bandied about.

Talking and doing are two different things. If they put in the application and realize they are going to have to spend an additional P5000 or so to install the thing separates the talkers from the doers.

Let's hope we find some additional doers.

The new receiver at CDO is online already, it is F-RPML2.

Yes you are correct indeed. There can be contacts but whether the contacts are really interested to host the kit is the issue.

I don't want to sound too pushy on the forum really about looking for hosts, as it really isn't easy for any of us. In a way having a two stage application is a way to screen those who are really interested to host the kit, as these hosts are more likely to maintain/keep an eye of the set up time to time. Mike has said there are many first stage applications received but when asked for more information about (or more than) half do not respond furthermore. This is the case for Palawan sadly. And I feel it isn't good to ask davaospotter again to contact his friend there. It just isn't worth the hassles. If the host stops at stage two it says a lot already. Let's not bother him. We will find our way to get a few hosts around there eventually. It is just slow.

            • French Reconnaisse Aircraft Seen on FR24 at the Philippine War Games

Since our feeder at Clark Field, Angeles City has reemerged we have been given a ring side seat for the Balikatan (shoulder-to-shoulder) war games happening the next few days on Luzon and Palawan. Some of these participating aircraft can be seen on the FR24 map page as UNKNOWN attributed to T-MLAT5.

For those that have installed Virtual Radar Server, information can be gleaned from the REPORTS pages for reference, to all the Mode-S and ADSB contacts within your receivers range. Others can see online Yesterdays and Todays Reports here or on the FR24 map page although FR24 blocks certain aircraft from showing on MLAT. Your FR24 receiver records it all even though it is blocked from showing on the FR24 webpage. VRS records all contacts and reports them in a tabular manner.

              cat&mousewargames.jpg

Types of aircraft recorded include most of Asias transport aircraft and the latest in Early Warning aircraft. Manufacturers like Boeing have sent their officials and engineers to oversee their latest and greatest in a "real world" setting. Command and Control aircraft like the JSTAR are in this exercise and the retired French reconnaissance aircraft capable of adversarial roles are here like in the pic.

In addition, to practicing, the host country is learning by doing on some of the most advanced equipment which will soon be added and prepositioned for their defense.

              Enjoy your ring side seat!

              • T-MLAT5 is Down Across Asia

If you have noticed there are no MLAT5 detected aircraft. FR24 is testing new receiver software and Mode-S only aircraft are not making it to the FR24 map.

Hopefully this is just a temporary situation.

Your FR24 receivers are still indicating Mode-S traffic but sin.fr24.com is just disabled. Other basestation programs are unaffected.

Some western Mindanao feeders are being impacted by frequent and extended brownouts so their tracking is off and on. The feeder at Ipil has disappeared for quite some time although school is out and the person responsible for the feed is not in school.

Likewise Noel F-RPLL2 has not been seen since the first part of April. Hope he pops up soon.

                  Good Evening,

Can you please give me other links of SBS-RESOURCES files for VRS because the server sbs-resources(.)com/download/setup(.)exe is not available and i cannot download it. If in case you have one. Thank you so much.

The files are on this page that you need for VRS.

In practice the OperatorLogo files are somewhat duplicate with just different styles of icons and you will just use one of them with VRS.

Their basestation.sqb file is just minimally populated for our area so send me email and I will send you the fully populated UPDATE file.

Create a master folder with a subfolder for the SilhouettesLogos and unzip the file into it.
Create a subfolder for each of the OperatorLogos files and unzip the appropriate file into it.
Create a Registration subfolder and this is where the basestation.sqb file is located.

The help files link is below which has my email address.

You don't really need to download all of the OperatorLogos files. I use the number two and have added the missing airlines and privately owned aircraft we will track.

algineyap03 what should we call you for a first name?

It flew in today at 11:19 am from Taipei. Airbus is showing off the new plane to replace the A340. Singapore airlines is the first customer in Asia to get it over here. It requires a lot of butts in the seats to pay for.

I think PAL leases some older A340s so they might be a customer in the future.

I think they are headed to Japan where most airlines fly Boeing aircraft for long haul. Perhaps Airbus would like to have the business. While jet fuel prices are low most airlines are bringing the 747s out of storage but in the long term when fuel goes back up the 25% fuel economy of the A359 will be a selling factor.

                          • Breaking News Story tracked by FR24 Receiver

Yesterday, 5/20/2015 CNN was embedded in the Boeing P-8A Poseidon overflying the new islands created by China where they were warned away along with a Delta and Singapore airlines flights. ASEAN countries are sceptical of China's intentions encroaching near to the Philippines now. Google maps are using a magic marker to outline where these new Chinese islands are in a fluid situation.

Our FR24 receiver in Subic tracks deep into the west of Palawan and caught the track of the Poseidon's return leg back to Luzon. Aircraft like this seldom appear on the official FR24 map but all ADSB/Mode-S receivers have this capability to track unofficially. The Subic receiver just so happened to pick up tracking of this flight and reporting with the VRS basestation program running and rebroadcasting his feed.

From the Feeds Reports here is a screenshot of the embedded flight.

The newly created islands are shown here with Google's magic marker until they can get a current satellite image.

If you live on Palawan join us. Find out here how to join the FR24 family.
