      see http://forum.flightradar24.com/threa...e-to-feed-FR24

      This is how to set up a low power consumption 'T-' radar suitable for always-on use.

      Just needs a dongle, Raspberry Pi computer, one or two 4Gb SD memory cards and a suitable power supply for the receiver.

      Then it needs something to make an antenna from (see www.balarad.net & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkUYdCPFXXs ) and a suitable adaptor to connect the coaxial cable to dongle.

          Where there are no hills in the way, I get up to 450km with a dongle (with a good antenna and a cheap antenna amplifier) - admitted the FR24 receiver does more if they can be sent there. But remember planes go over the horizon at
          * 400km at 40000 feet
          * 350km at 30000 feet
          * 300km at 20000 feet
          * 260km at 10000 feet
          so ideally you want your stations 300km apart and those ranges are possible with a dongle.

            RTLSDR mini + ADSB# = same range as the FR24 hardware.
            It's all about the DSP software. When the Airspy will be released and maybe an updated ADSB# lateron, even more is possible!

                Just to be sure we understand you...

                So you do now cover the whole country using dongles?

                We do have a forum area about using the Raspberry Pi - a low cost educational computer - running Linux as a receiver http://forum.flightradar24.com/threa...e-to-feed-FR24

                We do also have an area that is discussing best low cost antenna designs http://forum.flightradar24.com/threa...1-best-antenna.

                    There are many good antennas. One of the good antennas worth trying is :

                    http://qsl.net/py4zbz/adsb.htm#b

                    (1) This page is in PORTUGEESE Language. Open the page in GOOGLE CHROME browser, which will give option to translate in ENGLISH.
                    (2) Wire antenna require precision. It will perform good if accurately built (accurately cut, bent, soldered, aligned etc)
