  • Incorrect Aircraft Icon showing on Screen

Hi I'm just wondering why the aircraft icon that shows an aircrafts position shows the wrong size plane.Twice now Hawaiian Airlines A330-200 has showed up as a plane the size of a Saab as used by Rex Airlines.

    Thanks for any comments

    Hi Mick.

If its a new aircraft like this one http://data.flight24.com/airplanes/n388ha/ it could take a few more weeks before it updates.

Why? Surely the icon is linked to the aircraft type code in the database?

Aircraft size and icon is not transmitted by the aircraft. It's based on aircraft ICAO code in our database. Once the aircraft has been added to our database with correct values the icon should be correct.

This can take from 10 minutes if we can look up aircraft data automatically to some days if data has to be entered manually.

          Hello,
Could you please correct aircraft icon size for ICAO Type Designators:
          VL3
          NG5
          FAET
ULAC (This is common code indicating Ultralight aircraft, same as GLID for gliders)

All of them should be displayed as small single engine GA airplanes. Same icon as for WT9, C172 etc.
          Thanks,
          Saulius

            Hi Mike,
Do you know who can correct aircraft icon if there is a mistakes in your database? Still many "big" airliner icons are used for small GA and Ultralight aircraft (examples of type designators: VL3; NG5; FAET; ULAC).
            Thanks for reply,
            Saulius
